The Government of Pakistan, through its Higher Education Commission (HEC), is offering a prestigious scholarship program designed for students from various Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Least Developed Countries. This initiative aims to strengthen academic and research collaborations under bilateral agreements, providing exceptional opportunities for international students to pursue Bachelor's, Master's (MS/M.Phil.), and PhD degrees at select public sector universities across Pakistan. The program is dedicated to fostering educational ties and enhancing human resource development within OIC member states, enabling recipients to gain quality education in diverse fields.
Eligibility & Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
* **Eligible Nationalities**: Candidates must be citizens of one of the specified OIC Least Developed Countries, which include Afghanistan, Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad, Comoros, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Sierra Leone, Somalia, The Gambia, Togo, and Uganda.
* **Academic Levels**: Scholarships are available for those seeking to enroll in Bachelor's, MS/M.Phil., and PhD degree programs.
* **Application Procedure**: Prospective students are required to submit their applications through their designated nominating agencies, such as the OIC General Secretariat or their respective national governments via their Embassies. Applications should clearly state the applicant's preferred Pakistani universities (listing first, second, and third choices) and desired academic disciplines.
* **Selection Criteria**: The selection process is highly competitive, emphasizing superior academic merit and strict adherence to the eligibility benchmarks established by both the HEC and the host universities. Candidates must meet the specific admission requirements, including academic percentage benchmarks, of their chosen Pakistani institutions.
* **Required Documentation**: All applicants are responsible for compiling and submitting a complete set of documents necessary for the university admission process.
* **Enrollment Facilitation**: The HEC will play a key role in coordinating with nominated students through their respective embassies to ensure a smooth and successful enrollment process at the selected Pakistani universities.
* **Final Clearance**: Upon the successful completion of all requisite formalities and documentation, the HEC will issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) exclusively for academic purposes, officially authorizing the selected students to commence their studies in Pakistan.
